We have been working with WZMH Architects on CIBC Mellon’s corporate offices, aiming for LEED® Gold CI. The project is now complete and occupying 4.5 floors at One York Street.

BDC at First Meadowvale Place

The BDC’s New Sustainable Space at First Meadowvale Place.

We just wrapped up a sustainability consulting project with Renew Architect for the BDC at First Meadowvale Place. The building had already achieved LEED® Gold Core and Shell. This was a partial interior with hopes of achieving LEED Gold Commercial Interiors. An unusually fast-moving schedule has made it challenging to monitor LEED goals and stay on top of issues, but the team did great! We’ll find out soon enough if they’ve reached their LEED goals, but they have definitely created a beautiful workspace.

Technology Doesn’t Make Buildings Green

Articles related to green building are forwarded to me often. One such article had opening remarks along the lines of achieving LEED® certification is just table-stakes these days. I completely agree – we’ve believed that for a long time. LEED provides excellent principles for designers, builders and property managers to follow, and we love helping clients use them to inspire measures above and beyond. But it doesn’t cover everything that could make a building truly green.
