We have been working with WZMH Architects on CIBC Mellon’s corporate offices, aiming for LEED® Gold CI. The project is now complete and occupying 4.5 floors at One York Street.
Opportunities and Benefits of LEED
We helped our client take advantage of the opportunities and benefits of LEED by working towards LEED Canada for Commercial Interiors v1.0 Gold certification. We completed initial feasibility assessments in collaboration with the entire design and client team, created sustainable design strategies, managed the sustainable design process, attended monthly site meetings, performed site visits to monitor construction and reviewed materials, waste tracking and indoor air quality measures to ensure LEED targets remained on track. We’re glad to report the project went well and amongst its successes is expected to achieve exemplary performance for regional material use and water use reduction. The project also overachieved on recycled content, but we were so successful we have already reached our limit of exemplary performance credits under LEED.
One York Street
One York Street is also a Green Reason project and is on track for LEED 2009 Core and Shell Platinum certification. One York Street’s extensive sustainability features laid the foundation for CIBC Mellon’s success proving that leasing choices can have a big impact on a tenant’s own sustainability goals for their space. With the project now in the commissioning phase the next level for CIBC Mellon is engaging their occupants in understanding the sustainable features of their space and how to ensure they continue their sustainable thinking into the occupancy phase of the project.
