Maryam Al Doori
MA IARD, BSc Arch
While Maryam began with a degree in Architectural Engineering and worked as such, her real passion lies in her Masters degree, which focused on place identity and social sustainability. Originally from Baghdad and having lived and worked in Dubai and Istanbul, and studied in Oxford, she’s worked on an impressive variety of projects. Maryam loves discovering new places and decided to explore opportunities in Canada next. She chose Toronto, as a likely place to explore her passion and utilize it in a place full of opportunities.
After great experience as an architect, she decided it wasn’t enough. Maryam really wanted to focus on sustainability. Here at Green Reason, she will be working with the team performing such tasks as coordinating other consultants and vendors, and working on LEED and WELL certifications. What makes her passionate about her job here is the combination of architecture, sustainability and regeneration. She says having a “green reason” through her job is what makes her excited to wake up every day to go to work, and to continue learning from the great team that surrounds her. Maryam also intends to pursue LEED and WELL accreditation in the coming months.
Maryam’s other passion is photography, which is a successful side profession she pursued while attending a Green Economy Program at Ryerson University in Toronto.
