BA (Hons), Fitwel® Ambassador
Claire originally began with us as a summer student in 2018, then stayed on part-time while she continued her studies. Claire has since earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies and Geography and joined us full-time. Her academic focus was sustainability, urban planning and climate change, which is very broad. Her time and experience at Green Reason helped Claire decide what she’s really interested in: the built environment. She intends to pursue a Masters degree in sustainable development and is particularly interested in the policy side of things.
Claire’s main drive is to contribute to a city in a positive way, and the best way she sees to do that is through sustainable building. She grew up in Toronto and loves the city, so it will likely be her city of focus.
At Green Reason, Claire assists on projects in a variety of ways, such as writing LEED documentation, feasibility studies, supporting WELL projects, and coordinating Fitwel Projects.
The Fitwel Ambassador accreditation adds the lens of better building environments to all of Claire’s tasks. She is applying her knowledge by figuring out how Fitwel programs may fit in with buildings and projects practically, and learning what clients are willing to do.
Outside of her professional and academic interests, Claire is a very outdoorsy person. She grew up going to a cottage where she is very active, including racing sailboats and even teaching sailing. She also loves music and attends every live show she can.
