Green Reason is a sustainable project management firm that provides integrated sustainable program development, program and project management, sustainability consulting and ongoing training and education services for a variety of clients and projects. Our projects range from developing tenant construction guidelines to project management of building infrastructure upgrades and include a full range of sustainability consulting services including contractor support, occupant engagement, LEED, WELL, BOMA, Green Globes, TGS and other sustainability rating systems. We offer a uniquely personalized approach to each project, working together with our clients to help them establish goals that make sense for their project, ensure that these goals can be achieved within their budgets and can provide ongoing value in the future.

We are looking for people who share our philosophy about buildings, how they are operated, how they affect their occupants and the environment at large and want to help us help our clients develop and achieve their project goals. The successful applicant must be able to work in an evolving, collaborative, professional yet informal environment and handle a multitude of various tasks and projects both self-initiated and in a team environment. You will be responsible for working with clients, other consultants and contractors to facilitate project solutions and provide project coordination/management for a variety of projects. You will have the required skills and experience and be comfortable accepting responsibility for project deliverables and outcomes. Creative thinking, an understanding of building design, construction and operation, enthusiasm for improving the built environment and a commitment to ongoing research and education is a must.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide program consulting, design support and planning for various building renovation projects
  • Provide program consulting, design support and planning for various building renovation projects
  • Work with the clients to define project targets and success factors
  • Manage project teams, accepting responsibility for deliverables & outcomes
  • Guide the client and project team in evaluating project design strategies
  • Budget and schedule development
  • Assume responsibility for all project documentation management
  • Provide technical analysis/support during the design & construction process
  • Maintain an advisory role to clients, offering technical expertise
  • Manage sustainable building rating/certification processes
  • Make contributions to knowledge management and quality control practices
  • Client relationship management, development and activities to promote the practice

Required Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in a field related to Architecture, Construction/Project Management or Sustainable Design and Building
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a field related to Architecture, Construction/Project Management or Sustainable Design and Building
  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate, professional experience in construction, project management, architecture or a related field
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Strong understanding of building systems and operations
  • Experience in project scheduling, budgeting and all aspects of project management documentation including maintaining monthly cost and project status reports
  • Practical knowledge of construction practices and green building principles
  • Experience in evaluating existing buildings for improvement opportunities
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Experience in applying sustainable rating systems to projects and knowledge of available incentive programs is considered an asset
  • Candidate must be a LEED Accredited Professional or will be required to obtain designation within 6 months of commencing employment
